It took us about 4 trips before we ever had a single bite. The learning curve was steep but the payoff is nothing short of awesome. This fish, in my opinion, is one of the toughest fish to angle. Challenges include the requirment for fishing for it at night and typically in not so desireable sea conditions.
The average fight that we encounter is 45 minutes to 1 hour on all standup tackle.
