Left Friday around 9 and picked up bait around 9 miles out of St. Aug. LOTS of hard tail/blue runners.
Went bottom fishing on the ledge and caught a couple nice Scamps (one around 20#) and a bunch of snapper.
Seas were 3'+.Then trolled from 20 miles north of St. Aug to 20 miles South of St. Augustine and picked up a couple wahoo along the ledge.
The swordfished out in 1,500'. we were flying at around 7 knots!
Caught our first one pretty quickly.
Then had another charge the boat and we pulled the hook on him. Then had another (probably not the one we pulled the hook on) hit a bait being trolled on the surface and then followed the squid right to the back of the boat.
Fish bit through midnight and then shut down...
Seas offshore the ledge were a good 6' easy with an occassional 8'. We could hardly make 17 knots through the slop.
Final tally - 1 swordfish, 2 wahoo, 2 scamp grouper, 5 snapper.
